Tests for structural soundness and inspects fittings, feed pumps, safety and check valves, water and pressure gauges, and controls to ensure boilers operate safely and efficiently. Being a Boilermaker II reads and uses blueprints to determine locations, positions, or dimensions of parts. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Boilermaker II typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires completion or enrollment in apprenticeship program.
