Job Description for Reliability Engineering Supervisor

Reliability Engineering Supervisor provides day-to-day supervision and expertise in reliability engineering activities that analyze and evaluate the reliability of products, equipment, components, and processes using engineering methodologies and tools. Aligns people, resources, and methods with the goals for reliability product design standards and implementation of operational plans. Being a Reliability Engineering Supervisor ensures projects stay on track with oversight of timelines and deliverables. Resolves or escalates any issues that impact team members. Additionally, Reliability Engineering Supervisor utilizes analysis, testing, and measurement to produce effective risk-based failure mitigation plans and actionable proposals for new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes, and testing specifications. Supports and coaches a team in problem-solving, best practices, and process improvement to achieve organizational objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Reliability Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
