The Proposal Specialist will drive business results by leveraging their creativity, technical writing, and collaboration skills to write compelling content in a marketing voice. Our ideal candidate is someone adaptable to write for many different types of customer and situation. This position requires exceptional communication, organization and time management skills. An understanding of advertising, branding and marketing is a definite plus.

In order to be successful in this role, the candidate requires a proven track record developing winning professional services proposals for government and commercial clients. The candidate must be able to lead the design and formulation of the proposal, clearly articulating the solution vision and win themes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Necessary Research: Evaluate RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs to understand what is required in the response; draft questions regarding ambiguities or errors; collect information needed to provide a winning solution. Research information on project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, timetable, budget, and standards of evaluation
• Write and Edit Proposals: Lead design and formulation of proposal responses, clearly articulating the solution vision and win themes. Create compliant, compelling narratives that present solutions and approaches against RFI/RFP instructions and evaluation criteria. Write case studies to be used in proposal responses and for other business development efforts.  Conceptualize and work with internal teams to develop graphics to create more compelling proposals. Handle multiple revisions, edit and re-edit proposal sections as needed, and ensure that proposals maintain a consistent tone and voice.
• Own and Manage Proposal Efforts: Maintain a database of proposal efforts. Interface with team members to develop technical and management solutions and communicate solutions and concepts via proposals, white papers, presentations, and RFI responses. Improve proposal results by evaluating and re-designing process, approach, coordination, and boilerplate information, and then implement changes. Manage timelines, expectations, and be responsible for getting the final proposal submitted on time to a high standard of excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or other relevant degrees
• Able to demonstrate highly proficient writing skills and provide writing samples
• Proven experience in business-to-business marketing communications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Microsoft SharePoint
• Strong analytic, research, and interpersonal skills
• 2 – 3+ years experience
• Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
• Excellent organizational practices with attention to detail
• Driven, resourceful and independent
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
