The Service Manager is responsible for managing production within the Purchasing & Contractor Services team as it relates to the resolution of service deliverables throughout the claims process. Improvement of department culture and promoting advancement of career paths for team members through consistent training and development of skills and abilities, are essential.

2-10 HBW Managers are empowered to bring solutions to problems and have the resolution to take action even in the face of adversity. This role is instrumental in forecasting, planning and executing production plans and ensuring compliance with business needs and production guidelines. Workload/line balancing of the various responsibilities of the team to maximize efficiency is critical to the success of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience in business management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
  • Strong employee and task management skills with experience balancing a multi-level, production-focused team ensuring the highest level of effectiveness and overall labor use is maximized.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team is working at predetermined production and service levels throughout the various responsibilities, consistently focusing attention on team development and coaching.
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly reporting of team success and opportunity through reporting services.
  • The Service Manager is responsible for the development or improvement of procedures & processes, implementing strategies and programs to improve team functionality. This position would recommend and assist in technology enhancements to increase accuracy and speed of service provided by the team.
  • Participating in management level projects, planning and activities as a member of the Purchasing and Contractor Relations Management Team.
  • Creates and distributes management reports using business information (BI) systems to monitor process, policy and team performance and identify opportunities for cost reductions and increased service.
  • Coordinates with management in all facets of the company to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding process and system enhancements. Prepares forecasts as it relates to claim and workload volume and costs. The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, high growth environment and perform under deadlines and constraints is crucial.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This person manages a multi-functional team composed of supervisory and individual contributor level employees. The teams are engaged in task and phone-oriented work.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and/or equivalent management experience matching essential duties and responsibilities. Must have solid experience in the use of Business Intelligence (BI) resources. Must have the ability to use Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel at the intermediate experience level including pivot tables, complex formulas and modeling.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical and statistical concepts such as fractions, % change, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
