Our team is responsible for the strategy, execution, and analysis of AARP emails and SMS campaigns that support a wide variety of Association programs and initiatives. We’d love to have an eager, dynamic, and thoughtful individual join us as we ideate and execute. As an intern, you will be immersed in email and SMS marketing, as well as receive broad exposure to digital marketing. Along the way, we’ll challenge you to think and work in new ways. Responsibilities

As an intern, you’ll be engaged in all aspects of the email campaign process. On an average day, you could be developing and applying skills in these areas:

Strategy

  • Identify new opportunities based on industry, competitive, and internal intel
  • Apply innovative thinking and problem-solving to challenges
  • Establish campaign direction

Execution

  • Manage tactical elements of campaigns to ensure on-time and error-free execution, including review of creative and proofs for grammatical and other elements

Analysis

  • Contribute to data analyses and write-up of findings
  • Create visual presentations of evaluation processes and results

You’ll also learn about consumer experience management and how to apply that discipline to campaigns.

Requirements

Prospective interns must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students; and remain academically enrolled throughout the duration of the internship. This position is ideal for a candidate enrolled in a marketing-oriented program.
 

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program.

 

Interns should also have competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), be detail-oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
