AbacusNext is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our dynamic and growing company. In this position, you will be recognized as an expert and a go-to person for the successful execution of the day-to-day operations of the Payroll Administration for a multi-state and international employer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the processing of payroll and for all U.S., Canada and UK employees.
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll, including weighted averaged (blended payroll), base pay, overtime, shift differentials, equity awards, bonuses, payroll taxes, deductions and garnishments in accordance with company policies and government regulations
  • Responsible for timely and accurate information included on payroll-related reporting, such as W-2’s, T-4’s, P60’s, tax filings, general ledger reporting, and other internal and external reporting
  • Ensure that the company is registered with all applicable tax authorities and properly maintains payroll tax account records.
  • Responsible for receiving, recording, and executing all Wage Garnishments
  • Responsible for review of all payroll related journal entries in the general ledger on a monthly basis, as well as reviewing payroll-related account reconciliations
  • Provide hands-on management and oversight of the payroll team members to encourage ongoing skills development and training
  • Ensure that payroll related internal controls are in-place and operating effectively
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll operations and systems and effectively communicate a business case to members of senior management to support future investments
  • Responsible for company Time & Attendance, and the accurate and timely collection and processing of automated timecards.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate payroll systems, including leading system implementations and upgrades with effective change management controls
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external payroll vendors and internal partners to achieve high quality results
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Shape the payroll global deployment strategy 
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of payroll administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Responsible for accurate and timely funding of company 401(k), HSA, and Pension accounts.


What You Need:

  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, HR or Information Systems
  • 7+ years payroll experience with prior management experience required
  • International Payroll Experience highly preferred
  • Paycom (US), Payworks (CAD) and Moorepay (UK) experience plus
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
