Job Description:


  • Associate’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required

Work Experiences:

  • At least two years of related work experience
  • Understanding and application of: HIPPA, FMLA, ADA, USERRA, ERISA, DOL


  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability multi-task and drive multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs and software.
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties


  • Serves as the subject matter expert for Academy’s leave programs. 
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies relative to FMLA/ADA  eligibility in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws
  • Manages STD/LTD and Maternity/Parental leave program(s) which includes coordinating applicable payments.  This also includes managing the relationship with Academy’s STD/LTD vendor
  • Produces and manages reporting metrics for all leave cases and report up to management (frequency to be determined)
  • Communicates with management to resolve escalations as needed.
  • Communicates with HRBP’s to review claim status’ and develop strategies for resolutions when needed
  • Ensure all leave job aids and SOP’s are updated accordingly are remain in compliance with all current federal regulations
  • Maintain compliance relative to SLA’s as agreed upon with HR business partners for response time via email or telephone.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of and follow Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Assist management with special projects as needed
  • Duties may change; Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
