Since 1973, Ayuda has provided critical services on a wide range of issues, in the process acquiring nationally recognized expertise in several fields including immigration law, language access, domestic violence and human trafficking. Ayuda has office locations in Washington, DC, Silver Spring, MD and Fairfax, VA.

WHAT WILL THIS JOB ENTAIL?
Writing & Document Organization:
• Prepare narrative outlines for grant applications.
• Create and prepare attachments for grant applications and site visits.
• Create and upload documents, including grant summary sheets, to help Ayuda increase internal knowledge about grants.
• Ensure that grant reports and funder communication are saved on SharePoint.
• Assist in writing Letters of Intent (LOIs) and grant applications to foundations for general support and basic program support requests.
Research:
• Research and organize external reports, studies, and media coverage relevant to Ayuda’s programs for use in grant reports and applications.
• Manage and build Ayuda’s internal training resources on the grant writing and grant management process.
• Conduct research on government grant and foundation funding opportunities
Data Entry/Data Management:
• Enter, review, and update data in proposal and reporting calendars through Excel and Ayuda’s grant database.
• Run reports in the database and prepare monthly internal grant update newsletter.
Other:
• Co-lead training for Ayuda employees on grants (grants orientation for new employees and other trainings throughout the year)
• Represent Ayuda at external meetings, informational sessions and conferences with funders and potential funders.
• Contribute to the development of Ayuda’s strategy to grow foundation and government grant funding.
• Submit paper grant applications.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU CAN DO THIS JOB?
Eligibility: Must be legally able to work in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position presented in a general office environment. Satisfactory results from a background check to include criminal history and a search of the employee’s name against a national registry of sex offenders.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
• Experience in grant writing or nonprofit development (paid or unpaid, can include courses or training)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with data entry.
• Experience in document and file management.
• Extremely detail oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Willing to travel to Ayuda’s offices about once a week and be based in Ayuda’s Washington, DC office.
• Interest in working with program staff across the organization.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The anticipated salary for this position is $53,040-$60,000, commensurate with experience.
