COTOPAXI Planning Analyst Salary in the United States

Cotopaxi is looking looking to take our data-driven innovation values to the next level. We're searching for a Planning Analyst to help wrangle our data and turn it into actionable information and inform business decision-making. This position will work under the supervision of the Merchandise Planning Manager and Chief Merchandising Officer, but will work collaboratively with other stakeholders including the Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams. In this role you will analyze data to determine industry and consumer trends. Additionally, you will: 

• Identify sources of data, collect, clean, organize and Interpret data using statistical techniques to help guide decision-making. 

• Create meaningful reports, including visualizations, for stakeholders using large data sets.

• Evaluate existing internal systems for efficiency and quality, and work to develop protocols for handling, processing and cleaning data to optimize statistical quality. 

• Identify, analyze and interpret data trends or patterns in large data sets. 

• Help devise long-term strategies for product categories. 

• Determine product positioning to maximize visibility. 

• Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category. 

• Collaborate with planning to expand product categories. 

• Work with stakeholders to prioritize business information needs. 

Education and Experience 

• Required: Bachelor's degree required. Ideally in mathematics, statistics, computer engineering or business. 

• Required: 3-5 years data analysis experience. 

• Preferred: experience in consumer goods, outdoor industry or adjacent market.

Ideal Candidate

• Excellent communication skills. 

• Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Proven analytical skills, including mining, cleaning, evaluation, analysis and visualization. 

• Advanced Excel Skills.

• Previous experience with Netsuite highly preferred.  

• Capable of working cross-functionally and independently.
