ExamWorks is growing at a rapid pace, and we are adding a Workers Comp-Medical Report Reviewer to our team in Woodbury, NY!  Are you a Medical Transcriptionist, Claims Adjuster/Examiner, or an Independent Medical Exam (IME) Chart Analyst seeking your next career move? If so, our Medical Report Reviewer -Workers Comp (internally known as Clerical Quality Assurance Coordinator) position is the job for you! In this role, you will be responsible for reading medical reports ensuring accuracy by searching for any errors in grammar, medical terminology, and content before sending to our clients. 

ExamWorks is a leading provider of innovative healthcare services including independent medical examinations, peer reviews, bill reviews, Medicare compliance, case management, record retrieval, document management and related services. Our clients include property and casualty insurance carriers, law firms, third-party claim administrators and government agencies that use independent services to confirm the veracity of claims by sick or injured individuals under automotive, disability, liability and workers' compensation insurance coverages.

ExamWorks offers a fast-paced team atmosphere with competitive benefits, paid time off, and 401k. This role is a full time positon with a standard work schedule Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm. It may be necessary to work overtime depending on business needs. This position will be located at 65 Froehlich Farm Blvd. Woodbury, NY 11797. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Receives client submissions and inputs client and examinee data in the system database.
  • Receives completed reports and reviews for completeness and accuracy, including proper formatting, grammar and sentence structure.
  • Verifies all cases contain information needed for the clinical review process.
  • Maintains daily contact with the Clinical QA Coordinator regarding workflow and status of pending reports.
  • When necessary, works with transcriptionists and/or physicians’ offices regarding report details, clarification, Addendums, etc.
  • Ensure all medical records/reports are properly documented and saved in the system.
  • Ensures all practices are carried out in accordance with HIPPA compliance practices, state and federal safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of Medical Transcription, Insurance Claims/Adjuster, and/or Medical Records Review experience required.
  • Must have experience reading or transcribing doctors reports.
  • Must obtain high attention to detail in proofreading content.
  • Must know and understand medical terminology.
  • Must have schedule flexibility in working overtime.
