WHAT YOU WILL DO
Ensure the integrity of the drug screen collection bathroom.
Ensure all non-disposable instruments requiring sterilization are clean and sterile.
Count and log medications daily.
Calibrate equipment daily and maintain proper equipment logs.
Monitor temperature logs daily for variances.
Perform Point of Care (POC) testing, interpret the results to guide care.
Prepare the patient for examination and perform necessary clinical procedures.
Monitor inventory needs for required department equipment and supplies; place orders as required to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Attend offsite wellness events; coordinate and bring all needed supplies; return supplies and route specimens to correct location after the event.
Perform and/or assist with necessary clinical assessments and data collections.
Collect and properly documents DOT and non-DOT Drug Screens Chain-of-Custody.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Prior Ambulatory and/or Clinical Care Services experience.
Prior experience as a Medical Assistant.
Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
Customer service skills.
Prioritize and delegate tasks.
Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
Hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Critically evaluate and analyze information in written materials.
Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Solve problems by analyzing information and using logic to address issues and problems.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
