What does a Sales Specialist do at companies like IGOV?

As a Sales Specialist, you will be supporting iGov’s Lead Account Manager, working closely with Account Executives to provide Sales Support.

 

 Other Essential Job Duties include:

  • Assist with quoting product deals.
  • Enter data into Salesforce.
  • Document and monitor sales deals.
  •  Complete order packages by compiling electronic documents and updating using a collaboration tool:
    • iGov quotes
    • Cost quotes
    • Customer order/cc form if applicable
    • Email in which iGov receives the orders
    • Original RFQ
    • Vendor POC
  • Communicate with the Contracts team to obtain contract changes from the government.
  • Send out a daily report to keep track of all orders.
  • Monitor solicitations from multiple government contracts.
  • Communicate order status both internal and external.
  • Create price quotations for Lead Account Manager.
  • Receive telephone/email/bid board requests for price quotations (RFQ’s), purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations from customers, original equipment manufacturers and distributors
  • Coordinate with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.
  • Follow up on inquiries by checking on order and delivery information.
  • Contact distributors to locate requested items to meet customer's delivery requirements.
  • Relay order status/information to customer.
  • Handle administrative communications with vendors.
  • Interface with other personnel including sales team, IT, contracts and accounting.
  • Other sales support administrator responsibilities as required.
  • Handle RMA’s (Return merchandise authorizations) on occasion.
  • Regular timely attendance is an essential function of your job.

 

Essential Skills Required:

  • 1 to 2 years of customer facing experience preferably in a sales environment.
  • Interest in pursuing a sales career and taking initiative to learn and grow within the iGov Sales Team.
  • Must have technical ability working on a computer and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically strong Excel skills preferred, and Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be trained.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours on time is an essential function of the job.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Government issued security clearance.

 

Education:

High School Diploma required.
