MIDNIGHT OIL Buyer Salary in the United States

Objective:  To be part of the supply chain, resourcing, evaluating and buying materials & services to meet Midnight Oil’s daily operational needs

 Specific Accountabilities:

• Interview, research and negotiate pricing with new and existing vendors. Working with compliance and finance as required to onboard.
• Purchase materials and supplies from qualified vendors
• Work closely with the estimating department on selection of appropriate vendors and pricing for projects
• Manage administrative functions such as FSC, FAMA Compliance and donations
• Proactively manage vendor delivery schedules, expedite as necessary communicating status as required
• Research and approve PO requisitions within the ERP system, working closely with finance to ensure PO’s are accurate, credits and adjustments are received
• Research and elevate to management when PO’s exceed spend allowance
• Manage all primary and alternative supplies and materials as required
• Manage inventoried items on a quarterly basis and adjust minimums
• Maintain inventory Kanban’s assuring consistent levels in all departments
• Handle returns on overstock, defective and damaged materials
• Handle excess inventory and find creative ways to minimize
• Back up members of the purchasing team as necessary
• Performs additional duties as assigned
