They may support a dental operator (such as a dentist or other treating dental auxiliary) in providing more efficient dental treatment. The Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients. Being a Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. In addition, Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Requires graduation from an approved nursing program. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a state license to practice. Being a Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Working as a Registered Nurse (RN), Level 2 typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
Medical Assistant - Certified assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant - Certified prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant - Certified may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant - Certified works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Medical Assistant - Certified typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
