Job Description: The shuttle/bus driver provides transportation in a University owned vehicle to members of the University Community. This transportation consists of scheduled runs to and from off campus residences and locations at which students, faculty, staff and guests are engaged in Bristol and Portsmouth and other directed locations. Provides Transportation Operates all University vehicles in a safe manner and in accordance with posted limits and all applicable state laws. Transports students needing medical treatment to local treatment facilities. Ensures that shuttle van/bus capacity limits are not exceeded and that all passengers are safely seated or using grab rails prior to departure from each stop. Job Description: BASIC FUNCTION: Provide transportation for the University community during each academic semester. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: On call as needed, weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled. The position may also require irregular hours of work. Report for assigned shift as scheduled by the Security and Transportation Administrator (STA). Inspect the vehicle prior to start of shift, ensuring that all equipment, i.e. radio, lights, turn signals, emergency flashers and windshield wipers, function properly, and report any discrepancies to the STA.
