DIOCESE OF ALLENTOWN Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Bangor Position Description The individual will plan and coordinate the parish music ministry. Primary responsibilities: Developing and training a parish choir Scheduling, recruiting and training cantors Playing the organ for up to 3 weekend masses, holy days, school masses and other scheduled liturgies Planning music, particularly with a goal of integrating the church's rich music tradition into our weekend liturgies (e.g. traditional, hymnody, chant, etc.) Recruiting/directing choir members and vocalists, and coordinating weekly choir rehearsals. Responsibilities also include playing for Sacraments and services during Lent, Advent, Christmas and Holy Week. Individuals collaborate to coordinate various liturgical celebrations.
