Job Description Job Description Summary: The Forensic Scientist has primary responsibility for performing toxicology testing on bloods, urines and other specimens using instrumental and manual methods established by the laboratory. Essential Job Functions: Be alert and aware at all times to ensure safety, accuracy and efficiency. Maintain competency in the following areas: Follow all written procedures in departmental SOP Prepares and verifies performance of all new reagents Ensures that all required calibrators and quality control samples are included in each batch Demonstrates good analytical technique Capable of performing routine maintenance of equipment Record quality control values for each batch and notify Supervisor and/or Forensic Scientist II/III if unacceptable results are obtained.
