Legal Nurse Consultant Salary in Kentucky

Talis Group’s client, is a Louisville Litigation law firm seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full time direct hire position with them. This client has an excellent reputation and generous benefits package. This position supports attorneys by reviewing and summarizing medical records and providing needed clinical expertise. It is an administrative role. Training on how to create these summaries per their needs and other needed skills of a legal or paralegal nature will be provided. Full benefits package available, flex time and a 35-40 hour work week.

Legal Nurse Consultant Prepare, review, organize, and summarize medical records for use by attorneys.Ensure quality control of medical records sent to appropriate parties. Assist in preparing responses to discovery, including obtaining documentation from clients concerning medical procedures and protocols. Prepare client reports for attorneys on the status of cases. Prepare correspondence, reports, and meet with clients to update clients on status, obtain additional medical information, or to inquire about existing medical information. Conduct research on medical issues of cases, explaining the diagnosis, treatment and intervention.As case develops, continue to research. Obtain pertinent medical literature and prepare summaries of how medical literature pertains to issues in cases. Research credentials of potential medical expert witnesses, including making initial contacts with experts to determine willingness and availability to serve as an expert witness in cases. As the Legal Nurse you will complete the full spectrum of activities related to State and Federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) case determinations. Conducting clinical level review, prior authorization, and disputed benefits review, supporting Medical Review Analysts, and Physician Consultants to ensure an appropriate and accurate process. Duties include but are not limited to: · Conduct reviews up to and including the appeal level. Involving chart screen, compiling regulatory guidance, researching insurer requirements, complete electronic worksheets and preparing final determinations. · Act as a resource for the administrative and clinical staff in training, problem solving, and clarifying determinations. · Provide technical assistance and conduct/participate in staff hurdles. · Participate in collaborative training.
