Over the last few years, the Hotel has undergone major renovations in the bedrooms, restaurant, residents lounge, sports bar, self contained Golf facilities and all public areas with further plans to redevelop and expand throughout 2024 and 2025 increasing the number of Bedrooms, an additional fine dining restaurant as well an opulent new Spa with state-of-the-art facilities.

Main duties and purpose of the role:

  As Bunkers Golf Shop Assistant you are responsible for helping your department to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience- in accordance with the Aldwark Manor Estate Service Standards. The working times will be between 7am and 6pm working 2-5 days per week, including daytimes, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

  The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting the Bunkers Manager with the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and services department by administering the day-to-day golf shop duties, such as opening and closing, answering calls and making golf reservations. A successful Golf Shop Assistant candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that typically include:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in sales or customer service with a passion for the sport and basic knowledge of the rules of golf
  • Administer point of sales transactions and maintain the day-to-day golf reservation systems by reserving tee times and lessons, check-in customers, and receiving payments
  • Accurately reconciles cash register sales with daily sales reports at shift change points
  • Ensure the collection and recording receipt of appropriate payment (cash, credit card transactions) in accordance with company procedures
  • Keep a working knowledge of all upcoming tournaments and programs to provide accurate information to guests
  • Maintain records of daily play on golf course and other data, as directed
  • Assist with maintaining the data management system within the point-of-sales software
  • Perform outside service duties, such as setting and maintaining the buggy staging area and putting green
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with groups, personal initiative, and leadership ability
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with guests
  • The ability to complete all tasks given in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards
  • Effective time management and communication skills
  • Ability to assist in different areas of Food and Beverage including the Bar and Restaurant
  • Manage guest queries and complaints in a timely and efficient manner
  • Carry out duties correctly to help assist Bunkers Manager with achieving financial targets
  • Carry out cleaning duties as assigned to you with an awareness of Safety and Security policies and procedures, ensuring relevant records are completed daily
  • Complete company training modules as required to ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures
