About the role
It's an exciting time to join AXA, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes and as part of this, we're looking for a Solution Lead to join us.
Reporting into the Solutions Manager, you'll provide hands on technical expertise within a Product Team and be the driving force in guiding software development, delivery, and continuous improvement. You'll also support resource allocation, recruitment, retention, development of people and performance management.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:
- Researching, designing and implementing technical solutions that meet stakeholder needs and deliver tangible benefit to our business
- Guiding and contributing to the delivery of code
- Proactively driving continuous improvement of the wider engineering community & act in a mentoring capacity
- Upholding best practice architecture, design, development, test and deployment principles
- Working with stakeholders to ensure delivery plans and product improvements are feasible and aligned to business goals
- Ensuring impediments, debt and enablers are clearly communicated and understood by key stakeholders
- Actively participating in leader training to ensure management and coaching skills are kept up to date

About you

- Proven experience in hands-on software engineering
- Expert in .NET framework/ C#
- Knowledge or experience of React JS is desirable but not essential
- Excellent knowledge of development lifecycles
- Proven experience providing leadership and managing people
- Working knowledge of agile practices and principles e.g. Scrum, Kanban
- Strong decision making and influencing skills
- Good collaboration skills
