Location: Cardiff
Salary: Up to £38,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months. If they have worked for less than 6 months continuously or have a break of 3 weeks or more between engagements, they must seek Divisional HR approval to apply for an internal role prior to submitting an application.

News Labs is a multi-skilled innovation team which sits between research and development, engineering, design and news. Reaching new audiences and improving journalists’ ability to tell good stories quickly and effectively are our key objectives. The News Labs editorial team needs individuals with a range of skills to help us deliver those objectives by turning ideas into innovations.
We are looking for a journalist to help us explore different opportunities, from integrating audience insights into a content management system to helping build relationships between the audience and BBC correspondents through participation on the BBC’s Live pages, all while making BBC News content more accessible to a wider range of audiences.
The successful candidate will flourish working as part of a multi-skilled team to provide editorial and audience insight and project support. You will enjoy building productive working relationships with a wide range of innovative individuals and organisations inside and outside the BBC and be comfortable adjusting your style to successfully work alongside them.
