We are looking to recruit a Yard Operative to join our Somerton Depot. You will be a key link to the depot by being responsible for processing instructions received from the Depot Supervisor as requested, ensuring quality, safety, security, and minimising wastage.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Ensure all equipment loaded onto vehicles is correctly counted and have the appropriate documentation.
• Ensure all work carried out at the depot and on site is done in the most efficient manner taking the company, customers and H & S regulations into consideration.
• Ensure any defective plant and equipment are reported immediately.
• Ensure all tasks and targets allocated by the depot manager and depot supervisor are completed accurately and within the timeframe allocated.
• Cleaning and repairing our internal hoarding system. This system is used for supermarket / hospital / public space re-fits.
• The candidate will work as part of a small team to cover every part of the process from first clean using a jet wash to final clean, repairing / replacing parts of the equipment, cleaning and repainting of the support bases and picking / packing of orders.
• Equipment must be cleaned to a very high standard, so the candidate must be energetic, target driven and take pride in completing a job with a high level of self quality control.
• The candidate will deal with collections being returned and have to assess the quality and complete reports noting damages.

• Understand the importance of deadlines
• High levels of Health and Safety standards.
• forklift experience is an advantage

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday between the hours of 07:00 - 17:00
• Based on a 40hr working week before overtime
• Christmas shutdown

Pay Rate

• £11.03 per hour (40 hour contract)
• Weekday overtime x 1.25
• Saturday overtime x 1.5
• Sunday overtime x 2 (not essential)
• Out of hours work available (not essential)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.44 per hour
