Job Overview:

As part of our growth strategy we are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking PPA Originator to drive BPGs renewable energy portfolio forward. You will be joining at an exciting and pivotal time supporting and maintaining the business growth, identifying and developing PPA opportunities, maximizing current PPA`s and further developing their flexibility capabilities across the UK.

Potential successful candidates must have experience originating and executing small and large scale PPA`s across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy and drive to identify long term – route-to market opportunities.

Duties:

• Provide support to the Operations Director in defining the company approach to wholesale electricity markets, revenue models and corporate/utility off-takers.
• Define and lead optimum route-to-market and revenue management strategies and execute them; leveraging on a deep knowledge of electricity trading and commercial structuring.
• Lead in the creation of opportunities for revenue generation and budget certainty as well as negotiating contracts to underpin investment decisions.
• Successfully secure route to market contracts in highly competitive tender processes run by third parties, in order to support the business’ growth objectives.
• Originate, structure, negotiate and execute PPA contracts including CPPA’s and Merchant PPA’s in a variety of energy and cross boarder markets.
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with development teams to support our growth objectives and provide hedging analysis with recommendations to effectively manage our merchant exposures.
• Build a network of corporate/industrial/utility off-taker relationships
• Identify and secure physical route-to-market agreement
• Partner with analysts, forecasters and data scientists to develop and deliver in-depth analysis and expertise in relation to power off-take structuresOriginate and process Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy projects
• Conduct market research to identify potential PPA opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary project information
• Prepare and review PPA documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Negotiate terms and conditions of PPAs with customers and stakeholders
• Coordinate with legal counsel to finalize PPA agreements
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to PPAs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business, in a related field
• Proven experience in originating and processing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
• Strong understanding of renewable energy markets and industry dynamic
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
