Leading UK multi-site retailer, operating from hundreds of locations throughout the UK and Ireland seeks new Financial Accountant to come and join a talented and well-established team.
You will play a key role in the Reporting team assisting in the production of statutory and non-statutory financial reporting deliverables for the inclusion in publications such as the annual report and accounts for the group, subsidiary financial statements, quarterly interim financial information and other internal management information, working closely with colleagues throughout the business.
Your Main Responsibilities As Financial Accountant Will Include
Coordinating and day-to-day involvement in the statutory audit, incorporating:
Working closely with external auditors to devise an effective and efficient audit approach across the group
Delivering against reporting timetables
Coordinating and resolving outstanding audit matters
Preparing status reports of progress against timetables
The end-to-end production of Group and Subsidiary financial statements which involves:
The full preparation of adjustments to management accounts including: IFRS 16, IFRS 9, IAS 19 and tax
Formalising additional statutory disclosure notes
Liaising with other internal and external stakeholders regarding other front-end disclosure information in the group AR&A and subsidiary financial statements
Quarterly reporting:
Preparation of condensed consolidated interim financial statements at quarter ends
Facilitating the external auditors interim reviews, including provision of analytical review commentary and review of divisional commentary submissions
Non-statutory reporting requirements including:
Providing an insight and input into the Groups continuous evolutionary improvement of systems, controls, and governance
Involvement in annual budgeting process
Involvement in monthly Board reporting
Involvement with other ad-hoc finance-related projects
As Financial Accountant Youll Need
Strong relevant experience gained in similar Financial Accountant type role in a fast paced environment or perhaps from a larger audit/accountancy practice
Qualification as ACA, ACCA or equivalent
Strong technical knowledge, with experience of statutory accounts preparation and consolidation
A dedicated, diligent, organised and flexible approach, comfortable with pressure and delivering to agreed timetables
An adaptable approach communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders
A focus on improvement, welcoming feedback
