Role Title: Job Coach
Contract Type: Term time only 77.36% FTE (34 weeks) Fixed-term to 01/07/2025
Salary: £26,842 - £29,380 (this is the full time salary, salary will be pro rata depending on working pattern)
Are you passionate about empowering young people and helping them achieve their career dreams? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Independent Living Skills team at Northop as a Job Coach.
Your main objective is to facilitate the training and integration of Supported interns into an onsite department rotation and/or competitive work environment, to ensure they thrive and succeed.
As a Job coach you will support the recruitment of interns to the host business including interviews, initial assessments, on-boarding and inductions. Using job coaching techniques to support young people’s development towards employment.
It will be essential to provide tailored training and support, including job coaching, building natural supports, and identifying reasonable adjustments and assistive technologies.
The Job Coach will be expected to record intern progress on approved systems to ensure that the intern journey meets individual targets.
The successful candidate will work with interns, employers, families, tutor and the Curriculum Director, steering group partners and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues related to training and employment where necessary.
Essential Requirements
Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above
Currently holds a Level 2 Digital Literacy or is willing to work towards
Relevant Level 3 qualification
Proven experience as a job coach
Experience in implementing employment plans
Knowledge and experience of working and supporting young people with additional learning needs
Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets as well as being willing to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
Able to work as part of a wider team, and be flexible and adaptable when required
Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to inspire and motivate
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
