Seeking a motivated, flexible, reliable Personal Assistant who can put their hand to a range of tasks, alongside the more traditional personal care aspects of being a Carer.
You must be willing and able to work with dogs. (All aspects - care/walking etc)
The position is to support a wheelchair bound gentleman with a spinal injury (tetraplegic) and offers regular, guaranteed shifts, with the availability of extra shifts to cover holiday/sickness etc. Night shifts and weekend work is required.
24/7 support is required, with a day shift running from 08.30-17.30 and night shift 17.30-08.30.
The position is SELF-EMPLOYED. Paid on a flat rate of £22 per hour, paid weekly upon invoice.
Our client is very independent and you will need to able to assist with all aspects of daily life, without taking over! This involves cooking, cleaning, washing, DIY, moving and handling, daily physiotherapy sessions, shopping, personal care etc.
No two days are the same, and you will need to be (reasonably) physically fit, patient and considerate.
You will be given training in specialist catheter care, along with learning about specific issues relating to spinal injuries.
This is a self-employed position, so you will have to be registered as self-employed (and therefore responsible for your own Tax and NI) and also need Carers Insurance. (An annual policy is around £90 and is classed as a business expense for tax purposes) An enhanced DBS is also required.
