Davies Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Desk Engineer to join our Automotive Engineering team within Davies Motor Engineering. You will be qualified to a minimum of I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard with current or recent experience working as an automotive engineer or body shop estimator. You will be able to assess value and negotiate repair costs; provide vehicle valuations; negotiate total loss settlements and have a detailed understanding of salvage categories and claims management.
Experience of vehicle estimating systems such as Audatex and Glassmatix is essential for this opportunity. AQP qualification is preferred.
Key responsibilities:
· To produce high quality reports
· Assess, value and negotiate repair costs
· Provide vehicle valuations
· Negotiate total loss settlements
· Have a detailed understanding of salvage categories
· Claims management
· Liaise with Field planning team, repairers and customers
· Support other members of the team as and when the need dictates
Key elements of the role:
· Inspection scope extends from Cars to HGV’S, Agricultural implements, and caravans
· Resolve customer complaints
· Consistency of damage
· Diminution in value
· Ensure instruction to reporting timescales remains within SLA’s
· Contribute to a engaging and collaborative working environment
· Adapt to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform additional tasks as may be required
