We have an exciting new opportunity to join the newly formed, all aged People’s Brokerage Unit as a Brokerage Officer, to support the vulnerable Children, Young People and Adults Social Care customers of Derby City. We are an enthusiastic, friendly, and supportive team, who strive to achieve the best for all our customers.

As a Brokerage Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting Children's and Adults Social Care and NHS colleagues by identifying, arranging, and securing suitable packages of care and support for customers across Childrens and Adults Social Care. You will work closely with Social Care colleagues, NHS colleagues, care providers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the needs of our customers are met effectively and efficiently.

The Opportunity
In the role of Brokerage Officer, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
Securing safe and suitable packages of care and support for customers across Childrens and Adults Social Care. Working closely with operational colleagues and other professionals, so that services are secured and arranged appropriately and in a timely manner.
Ensuring care and support provisioned, is appropriately negotiated and secured within the agreed pricing framework and offer value for money.
Updating and maintaining accurate records for any packages requested, made, and ended by updating the relevant systems and databases/spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
Building and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external colleagues.


About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...

Experience in purchasing care services and or possess effective administrative, finance and IT skills.

An understanding of the operating environment of health, social care, regulated services and the community and voluntary sectors, in particular in a brokerage role.

Knowledge of National Minimum Standards and Ofsted requirements for Children’s Social Care and CQC for Adults Social Care.

Knowledge and experiences of using a PC and Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access.
