Job Posting for Toolmaker at Early In Careers

Due to continued growth Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established manufacturing company based near Tamworth. As the Tool Maker you will be responsible the manufacture and maintenance of progression press tooling used to manufacture parts for the construction industry.

Shift pattern for the Tool Maker:

  • Monday - Thursday (7.30pm - 16.30pm)
  • Friday (7.30am - 12.30pm)

Duties of the Tool Maker:

  • Reading engineering drawings to be able to confidently and competently manufacture press tooling components
  • To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders (WEDM machines optional)
  • Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
  • Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with
  • minimal downtime to aid production
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the company

The successful candidate for the Tool Makers position will have the following experience:

  • Appropriate craft or technical qualification
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all
  • quality standard regulations
  • Experience in producing, refurbishing and troubleshooting progression press tooling
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work and liaise with a range of internal departments
