Mechanical Engineering Apprentice

At British Gypsum we are looking for an Engineering Apprentice to work in our team at our plant in Kirkby Thore, helping to deliver our site engineering agenda whilst taking ownership of your learning and development and achieving your qualifications to become a maintenance engineer. This Engineering Apprentice will be a part of the Engineering team which is totally committed to developing the skills and talents of young enthusiastic individuals by providing a comprehensive training programme. British Gypsum is part of Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions (SGIS). Much of Britain has been built with British gypsum. Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled and made in Britain. We have been mining gypsum for more than 150 years, a heritage we're very proud of. The role predominantly is on days (08:00-16:00), there may be the requirement to work shifts on occasion. What we're looking for:

Minimum grade C in English, Maths and Science GCSE (or equivalent) Ability to demonstrate a passion for Engineering Self-motivated with a thirst for further personal development Enjoys working as part of a teamWhat you will be doing:

Working alongside Engineers on projects Performing proactive and reactive maintenance on the plant and machinery Use continuous improvement techniques to enhance site performance Achieve and support a culture of environmental, health and safety (EHS) excellence objectives and targets.
