Job Title: Estimator - Air Conditioning & Ventilation (HVAC)

Location: Derby

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 plus pension, holidays and car / allowance.

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator for a permanent position based in Derby.

As an Estimator you will play a vital role in our client's project planning and execution. The company is committed to growth and as a result this will be a dynamic position. You will be responsible for estimating the costs and materials required for various air conditioning and ventilation projects, ensuring that they are financially feasible and align with our clients' needs and industry standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and estimate air conditioning and ventilation projects value from £5000 up to £1,500,000.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects in the, commercial and industrial sectors.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services projects.
• Evaluate material and labour costs, equipment expenses, and other factors to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Develop detailed project proposals, including cost summaries, scope of work, and timelines.
• Prepare and present estimates to clients, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
• Participate in client meetings and negotiations to address questions and concerns related to project estimates.
• Continuously update and refine cost databases and estimate templates.
  
  

Requirements

• Must have previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the ventilation and air conditioning industry.
• Ability to estimate from pre-deigned projects.
• Ability to design in air conditioning and ventilation for D&B projects in preparation for tenders.
• Proficient in excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to meet strict deadlines.
