Are you a seasoned Project Planner with expertise in Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management, have a passion for working on cutting-edge technology projects? Smiths Detection has an exciting opportunity for you at our Hemel Hempstead site, although hybrid 1-2 days a week in the office.
Join a dynamic team at the forefront of developing advanced xray screening detection systems in sectors that include Aviation, Defense, Ports & Borders.
Why Join Us? At Smiths Detection, you'll be pivotal in ensuring effective project planning, supporting the full project lifecycle from initiation to delivery. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Controls Manager, contributing directly to our lean Programme Excellence Centre (PEC), which is essential in driving value across our projects and the broader business.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage project schedules, resource planning, and cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with Earned Value Management Systems, particularly within MoD/Defense environments.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to track progress, identify risks, and implement solutions.
- Utilize tools like Primavera P6 to establish and maintain project baselines.
- Play a key role in risk, change, and opportunity management planning with the Project Manager.
What You’ll Bring
- Expertise in Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management (Must be evident in current/previous roles) with solid experience in Product Development, R&D, or engineering projects (aviation, automotive, or medical equipment, electronics ).
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- A proven ability to develop and manage complex, integrated project schedules in line with industry standards.
- Knowledge of defense sector projects (MoD/DE&S/DSTL) is a plus.
