Artisan Baker

Artisan Baker required at a respected artisan bakery trading in Bedford since 1994!

This is a permanent, full-time position working 40-48 hours per week at a family-run independent bakery focusing on making traditional, quality bread.

Willing to help find local accommodation if willing to relocate.

Required Skills:

• Experience shaping traditional bread by hand preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate
• Up-to-date knowledge of bakery products and baking techniques
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Experience working in a bakery environment
• Numeracy and communication abilities

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to health, safety, food allergen, and hygiene standards
• Report production issues and participate in training as needed
• Clean equipment and workspace, performing additional tasks as assigned
• Ensure teamwork and personal/collective safety
• Collaborate with supervisor to produce and pack bakery products

Qualifications:

• Ideally minimum 2 years' documented bread baking experience
• Inventory management skills
• Planning, organising, and task execution abilities
• Adaptable to various hours including nights, weekends, holidays

Compensation Package:

• Salary range: £24,000 - £35,000 annually
• 5.6 weeks paid holiday starting April 1st
• Overtime beyond 48 hours paid at 1.5x rate
• Monthly pay
