Finatal is currently partnered with a rapidly scaling e-commerce business who have recently had investment from a mid-market fund with a strong focus on data and analytics as a value-creation strategy. As they expand overseas, they are looking for their first finance data analyst to join the CFO and FP&A team to drive optimisation and revenue growth through data insights and recommendations. You will work closely with finance looking at revenue and profit margins but also cross-functionally with sales, marketing, pricing, and inventory ensuring you ask questions and challenge to give sound recommendations for the business.
Role:
Working closely with the Head of FP&A and CFO to report back on key insights, and trends from multiple business areas to increase the visibility of growth. This will involve collaborating with multiple executives from Sales, Marketing and Pricing functions etc.
Financial reporting on trading data, using Tableau, SQL, Excel, and relevant finance systems developing this reporting from the ground up.
You will analyse large and complex data sets, building visualisations to enable the board and investors to see the value of data, guiding them on decision making and bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Opportunity to get involved in special projects including M&A, international expansion, and new finance systems.
In the Long term you will have the opportunity to build out a dedicated finance data team to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.
Requirements:
You will be a curious self-starter with a passion for not just getting the numbers right but understanding ‘the why’ and the ‘so what’. You will be keen to leverage this into actionable insights to help drive business performance.
Experience working within an FP&A/ finance function using different finance modelling tools.
Strong SQL skills – including the ability to perform joins and subqueries.
Advanced BI skills (ideally in Tableau) with the ability to build and maintain complex dashboards.
