Our client is seeking an Apprentice IT Technician to work in a friendly 5-man office, based in Mortlake, London.
The job is office based due to the level of interaction required between the technicians, the requirement to accept deliveries into the office and the ability to get into London quickly from a central location. The office is a 3-minute walk from a main line train station that goes into London Waterloo.
Over a period of training the candidate will build their knowledge of IT skills and be required to fulfil the following functions within the company as well as pursuing an academic IT qualification pertinent to the apprenticeship.
Job Duties
Transport and travel
The candidate will be required to attend Client site premises anywhere within the UK although 97 % of all our clients are in London within 10 miles of our offices. All travel expenses are pre-paid by the company.
Research and Development
IT is a rapidly evolving environment, and the candidate will be given the task of reviewing and setting up test labs for new software or hardware that the company wishes to develop or maintain.
Sales and Marketing
We will encourage the candidate by financial incentives to involve themselves in the expansion of the company by formulating proposals for new ventures or systems that can add to the support scope and profitability of our company.
Estimating
The build-up of fully detailed estimates is crucial to our profitability. The candidate will be involved in this process and required to produce detailed client reports for tender using word processing and spreadsheets.
Auditing and IT manuals
Retained resource information is required by Clients and our company for efficient support functions and for client financial reporting functions. The candidate will be involved in the compilation of audits and manuals for both parties via software and on-site visits including GDPR compliance audits and Cyber Security Certification.

Skills Required:
The ability to use MS word and Excel beyond beginner level.
Verbal and written communication skills must be to the high standard that our business clients expect.
A genuine interest in IT that shows you have already begun to study the subject at some level either privately or at school.
Personal Qualities:
The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team, as well as on their own. Support tasks are often shared or taken over to suit circumstances.
The company often have to deal with calls from clients with little understanding of IT. The right candidate will have to be patient and articulate with our clientele. The candidate’s best reference will be their reserve in getting the problems sorted, without any display of frustration.
