Job Posting for Human Factors Researcher at Forseven
The Human Factors team is comprised of three disciplines: HMI research, Vehicle Ergonomics, Vehicle Experience research. We are a research-focused team with the common goal of ensuring a leadership user experience. This role is to support user research activities across all three disciplines in the Human Factors team including developing methodologies, running user trials, analysis of data and presentation of findings. This role will have the opportunity to work across each of the three disciplines but the first 6 months will be focused on vehicle ergonomics. This role includes the long-term scope to specialise in one research discipline, or remain supportive of all three.
What you will do:
Develop research methodologies, in collaboration with Human Factors discipline leads
Conduct benchmarking assessments in competitor vehicles to assess the performance of vehicle experience across HMI, Ergonomics and VX
Support the processing and interpretation of data towards product improvements, target setting and performance validation.
Work cross-functionality with, for example, customer experience team, lifestyle products, product, and vehicle architecture teams to enable a culture of evidence-based decision-making towards a leadership UX
Support driving simulator based research to evaluate new HMI technologies
Explore areas for innovation and maintain awareness of market trends and changing user needs.
Support the development of user journeys and use cases to support product development and test suitability of solutions
Champion the voice of the human user across all activities within the business
Requirements
A natural collaborator who is able to work with, and learn from, discipline leads.
Degree required in a subject akin to User Experience Design, Psychology, Human Factors or Human Sciences.
A foundation of research capability with the ability to define research questions, develop methodologies and execute a research protocol
An understanding of statistical methods for data analysis and a strong appreciation for reliability and validity
A strong interest to learn about new research tools and methods across human sciences
A critical mind, who is able to identify and provide productive critique in research and process improvements.
