Furbnow helps homeowners with a service that:

provides a whole home retrofit plan to achieve your goals for your home

gets them underway with their project: connects homeowners with trustworthy installers, provides a contract, a warranty for the work and a Retrofit Coordinator to oversee the project

monitors energy performance to see how the project has affected your energy and provides annual inspection of any work completed

Job Description


You will work in the Operations Team and work closely with the Principal Retrofit Coordinator and our suppliers, as we use a blend of internal and external staff to deliver Home Energy Plans (Medium Term Improvement Plans in PAS2035 language) for customers - homeowners in the “able-to-pay” market. This role will bring greater responsiveness for our business to handle customer demand.

Your role will be to conduct retrofit assessments, potentially across the UK, at the owner-occupied homes of our customers. You will routinely produce:

  • Occupancy assessment
  • Energy report
  • Condition report
  • Significance surveys
  • Floorplans
  • Take photographs
  • Produce XML files
  • Other technical surveys

In addition, you will be expected to undertake continuous professional development and training to respond to industry changes, such as training to use air tightness testing, thermal imaging, intrusive surveys and heat loss calculations. This will be supported by Furbnow.


Qualifications


Essential criteria are:

  • Level 3 Domestic energy assessor qualified.
  • Level 4 Retrofit Assessor qualified.
  • Knowledge of insulation materials, renewable energy systems, installation techniques and relevant regulations.
  • Full and clean UK driving licence.
  • Pass a DBS check.
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects, customers and supplier stakeholders concurrently.
  • Personable character with experience of, or ability to master, delivering excellent customer service.
  • IT literate, ability to use standard office-style programmes as well as the ability to use contemporary programmes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills when dealing with Furbnow and supplier colleagues and of course our customers.
  • Flexibility, we work nationally and prioritise excellent customer service and if a supplier lets us down we may need you to help us solve a problem.
  • Teamwork, we are a close knit team, you must have a ‘can-do’ attitude to help achieve overarching objectives.
  • Ability work alone, as we working mainly remotely, and you must be comfortable working in a loosely hybrid fashion.

And most importantly: passion! We care passionately about our customers, our colleagues and the UK’s retrofit challenge. This isn’t a numbers game, this is about getting it right first time, every time, for every customer: you must want this as much as we do.

Desirable criteria are:

  • Level 5 retrofit coordinator qualification.
  • Level 3 qualification in working with traditional or heritage properties.
  • Qualification and experience in conducting technical surveys (such as intrusive borescope, Matterport, damp, timber, thermal imaging, air tightness).
  • Central location within the UK.
  • Project management experience.
  • Construction industry experience.
  • Contract management/administration experience.
  • Level 2/3 qualifications in construction.
  • Level 2/3 qualification in the installation of retrofit energy efficiency measures.
