In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring financial stability, and contributing to strategic decision-making to support the ongoing success and growth of the business.


Role Overview


The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading all financial aspects of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial standards. This senior-level role will work closely with the executive team and other departments to drive the financial health and sustainability of the business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s overall objectives and business plans.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, financial forecasting, and long-term planning to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax, financial reporting, and healthcare-specific legislation (e.g., CQC).
  • Cost Control & Efficiency: Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide financial analysis to improve operational efficiency.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure financial liquidity and sustainability.
  • Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial matters with key stakeholders, including external auditors, banks, and investors.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Play a key role in financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions.


Key Requirements:

  • Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (essential).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the healthcare or private healthcare sector.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrable experience in leading and developing a finance team.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to provide strategic financial insight and drive financial initiatives that support business growth.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare financial regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., CQC, NHS financial guidelines).
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • IT & Systems: Proficient in financial software and systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial matters.
  • Proactive Approach: Ability to work autonomously, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
