The Role
In this role, you will work directly with students who have a variety of special educational needs, including physical, emotional, and learning challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Individualised Support: Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to help students access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and provide insightful feedback to parents and colleagues to support their academic growth.
- Emotional Support: Foster a nurturing and secure environment, offering emotional guidance and encouragement to students in need.
- Communication: Ensure effective communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in each student’s educational journey.
- Inclusion: Advocate for inclusivity within the school community, ensuring that students with special educational needs feel a sense of belonging and support.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as an SEN Primary Teacher or in a similar role is preferred.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help students with special educational needs succeed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with the school team.
- Previous experience in supporting students with special educational needs is advantageous.
