Description
Denham Woodlands Nursery is a friendly, independent nursery school for children aged 2 to 5 years. The nursery has high adult to child ratios and highly qualified and experienced staff. The nursery is proud of its extensive outside area including a woodlands area. At a recent Ofsted Inspection the nursery was graded as outstanding in all areas.
Act as the main key person for children aged 2-4, providing a safe and nurturing environment.
- Observation and Assessment: Conduct regular observations and assessments of the children’s development and progress.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
- Documentation: Write and distribute posts to parents, keeping them informed about their child's activities and progress.
- Write posts and updates for parents to ensure they are well-informed about their child's daily activities and developmental milestones.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, contributing to a positive team environment.
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with parents, children, and colleagues.
- Have an understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and implement it effectively in daily activities.
- Activity PlanningBe actively involved in planning and organising activities that support the developmental needs of children aged 2.
- Have a solid knowledge of safeguarding practices to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Supervise children during snack and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Assist in setting up the nursery environment each day to create an engaging and stimulating space for children
Entry requirements
GCSE English and Maths 3-9/A-D (or equivalent such as functional skills in maths and English at Level 2)
Training to be provided
Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be required to complete:
Work towards gaining a full Level 2/3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
Standard and End Point Assessment.
Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
