Senior Support Worker
Location : Locks Heath
Contract: Full time - Permanent
Hourly pay: £15.35per hour - Overtime rate: £19.19per hour
Essential requirements
● A Level 3 diploma/ NVQ in children's residential and experience of a similar role
● To be responsible for leading and delegating the staff team, ensuring shifts are adequately planned and managed
● To support and supervise junior members of staff
● Undertake agreed delegated management responsibilities on an ongoing basis
● On-call responsibilities as required
● Assisting the Registered Manager to ensure the Home meets its regulatory responsibility to safeguard all young people.
● Keep knowledgeable with relevant legislation and policies
● Maintaining a safe and caring environment
● Challenge unacceptable practice and know how to raise concerns
● Recognising and celebrating progress and achievements of young people
● Managing challenging behaviour
● Attending Professionals Meetings as required
● Reporting and recording key aspects of care
● Supporting with individualised care plans
● Encouraging daily goals and activities
● Remain updated with documentation and records
● Promoting education and daily living skills
● Undertake keyworker responsibilities
● Caring/ positive role models that are good at building up positive relationships
● Comfortable working 1:1 with children, including positive behaviour management
● Has experience within children's residential
● Good at paperwork/ IT/ systems
● 37.5 hrs a week but flexible and available to work long days, evenings and weekends on a rota basis to meet the homes needs.
● Full UK driving licence
Successful candidate will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosuer ( DBS) The cost will be met by Highlands( Fareham) Ltd
