What This Role Entails
- Setting up and running test rigs for bioreactors and downstream processing units under instruction from project managers and 'chipping in' where necessary across the company to accelerate the R&D and Engineering workplans.
- Being the source of knowledge and support for certain items of equipment.
- Working with other technicians with a range of expertise to maintain a professional, clean and safe working environment.
Objectives
- Support bioprocess development work by running upstream and downstream test systems.
- Maintain or modify equipment to improve quality and productivity.
- Run and maintain the bioprocessing lab to a high standard.
Experience
Selection criteria:
- At least one year working in biotechnology or food & beverage R&D or manufacturing.

- Experience of responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of several items of equipment or entire labs
Team working
- Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to 'get to the bottom of' what a colleague really needs to solve their problems.
Expertise
- Essential: setting up and operating bioreactors, downstream processing units or whole bioprocess/process.
Preferable: mammalian cell culture and analysis.
