A bit about the role...
Working in a team with Maria Craig our Director of Internal Audit, the Assistant - Internal Audit role will play a key role in assessing the adequacy & effectiveness of the organisation’s arrangements for risk management, internal control & governance. The role will initially focus on the testing of key controls within Internal Audit reviews working under the supervision of a Senior Internal Audit Manager.
The aim is for the successful candidate to then progress through to assisting with planning and reporting of Internal Audit work as experience develops. You will be joining our highly skilled and experienced team of 8 people, who are committed to making positive change in how Homes England manages risk and ultimately achieves its objectives.
Maria Craig is dedicated to delivering a first-class service, taking an innovative and creative approach to addressing issues. Maria also believes in working in a collaborative and flexible way to ensure that the service provided to the Accounting Officer of Homes England is efficient and effective.
A bit about you…
Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate with the aim of ensuring that risk within the organisation is adequately controlled.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy and, although previous experience of Internal Audit is not required, you'll need to be methodical, logical, resilient and organised as well as having an inquisitive mind with the confidence to ask questions of management. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with stakeholders at varying levels within the organisation.
You will also need to be prepared to undertake a course of formal study to attain professional Internal Audit qualifications.
