Role description:


As the Finance Manager at Abbott Lyon, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and growth of the business. You will manage the day-to-day running of the finance function, driving efficiencies, improving processes, and delivering detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on individual with experience in a fast-paced eCommerce/Retail environment.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Management Accounts: Assist with preparation of enhanced management accounts and accompanying commentary.
  • Financial Performance Analysis: Provide in-depth financial performance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Financial Models, Budgets & Forecasts: Assist with preparation of financial models, budgets, and forecasts, and support the development of these tools.
  • Ad Hoc Modelling: Conduct ad hoc financial modelling exercises to support pricing or cost-saving decisions.
  • eCommerce Bookkeeping: Manage the day-to-day activities of our eCommerce bookkeeping.
  • Team Management - manage the other members of the finance function and assist with their queries, prioritisations and development.
  • Invoicing Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of invoicing, automating where possible.
  • Sales Ledger Management: Support the sales ledger process.
  • US Sales Tax: Liaise with our agency to ensure US sales tax submissions are correct and submitted on time.
  • Payroll: Manage and process payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Statutory Accounts & Audit: Assist in the production of statutory accounts and manage audit requests.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct data analysis and prepare financial reports to support business decisions.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stock Reporting: Compile and review the monthly stock report, including stock costing and posting checks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Uphold the company brand and values, responding quickly to internal requests and setting the standard for internal stakeholder management.



Skills and Experience:


  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Hungry, determined and passionate about making an impact and driving results
  • Experience of working within a Retail, Marketplace or DTC/eCommerce business
  • Advanced MS Excel and IT skills (familiarity with graphs, VLOOKUPS and Pivot tables)
  • Experience of working with a scale up organisation
