Job Description
We have an exceptional opportunity to join the team as a
Brewer in our Magic Rock Brewery based in Huddersfield. This is a great opportunity to join one of the largest independent craft breweries in Huddersfield, building your brewing skills and knowledge in a 50hl brewhouse in a site capable of producing 90,000HL per annum. You'll join a team of highly capable brewers, all with a passion for quality, safety, and innovation, and be part of producing a range of beer styles for a growing customer base.
You'll have access to running a state-of-the-art automated GEA brewhouse, and use our Sabco pilot kit to test, tinker, and have your own-recipe beer sold in the Huddersfield and Holmfirth taprooms.
Reporting to the Head Brewer, this is a full-time, hands-on production role on a rotating rota over a 24-hour shift pattern across three teams of three. You'll work closely with the Head Brewer and Technical Brewer to produce best quality beer, deliver process efficiencies, and be part of new product development.
Responsibilities Include
- Complete all required brewery operations to specification and in conformance with SOPs including, brewing, filtration, and cellar duties
- CIP of brewhouse
- Carry out basic lab work – yeast counts/viabilities etc.
- Complete all assigned project work to schedule
- Deputise for the Senior Brewer when required
- Lead by example in health, safety, and quality standards
- Adhere to and maintain a continual high standard of site hygiene
The Ideal Candidate Has The Following Skills And Experience
- 1 years' work experience in a commercial brewery
- Professional brewing qualification preferred (or working toward) – a professional brewing education is synonymous with the role e.g. IBD GCB
- Comfortable with shift work
- Comfortable to safely lift and move objects up to 25kg
- Understanding of quality and food safety procedures
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Problem-solving, reasoning skills, and process adherence
- Packaging knowledge an advantage
- Forklift license preferred
- A passion for craft beer!
