We are seeking an experienced Event Manager to start immediately on a temporary 3-month contract for our upcoming Global Peace and Unity Foundation event.
The successful candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment and have the ability to communicate with senior management, colleagues as well as high profile guests and associates.
Event Manager duties will include, but are not limited to:
Co-ordinate and plan events from start to finish; end to end management of the events including briefings, location selection, planning, event day execution, evaluation and the creation of assets for amplification of events
Liaise with event venues in sourcing, proposing and contracting suitable spaces to run the portfolio of events
Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure the negotiation of cost-effective prices and best possible rates
Create and distribute the exhibitor brochure/manual to all the partners, sponsors and exhibitors and become their main point of contact for the event ensuring the required levels of communication (verbal and email) both pre-event and onsite
Co-ordinate and manage the set-up and production of the events on site, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality event experience
Planning and executing communications pre, during and post event to drive engagement, both for attendees and a wider audience, including: warm-up communications which build excitement and attendance, facilitating customer and talent word of mouth, showcasing the experience post event as well as find ways to deliver value to those who weren’t able to join
Supervise and manage all suppliers, staff, contractors working on event
Working with other internal business units to maximise coverage of the event and to amplify the event to a wider audience
Ensure post event evaluations are delivered and shared, to determine efficacy, identify opportunities and build learnings into future events
Build and maintain strong relationships both internally as well as with external partners to help identify opportunities to create future unique events for our customers
Work closely with social media team
Perform risk management to minimise risks
Recruit volunteers
Keen attention to detail, and a willingness to strive for continual process improvement
Highly developed organisational and planning skills - able to schedule and prioritise deadlines
Some international travel may be required
Admin work
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements
Ability to manage multiple events, with competing deadlines, effectively
Excellent relationship skills with a proven ability to engage, manage and influence multiple stakeholders to achieve alignment and work towards common goals
Flexibility and adaptability including willingness to travel, work outside normal hours and undertake tasks not directly linked with the core job description
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Confident presentation skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail; ability to manage and prioritise multiple events at any one time
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Office Microsoft Suite

Qualifications
Educated to degree level
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in successful events management
