Overview:
As a St Albans club lead at Learn Happy, you will play a pivotal role in delivering enriching small group lessons to children, nurturing their talents and helping develop a love of learning in a way that also equips them with the skills to become collaborative, compassionate and creative individuals. We are looking for a qualified teacher for this position.
Whether you are currently working in a school setting or not, we would love to discuss your experience and specific areas of interest in order to see if you might be the perfect educator to run small group collaborative sessions and help us grow our Learn Happy team. The position involves conducting the After school club in St Albans, creating a positive learning environment and ensuring the seamless execution of classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently lead small group sessions on a Thursday weekly after school at 3.40-4.40pm and be available from 4.40-7pm on a Thursday with the flexibility to add additional days between Monday and Friday during the hours of 3.30-7pm.
- Create half termly plans (simple overview) and email to parents a week prior to term starting.
- Execute and deliver engaging lessons following the companies structure.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel welcome and encouraged to participate.
- Manage groups of up to 10 children.
- Oversee the set up of each session, organisation and clear up of the space for each session.
- Ensure the safety and well being of all children during the sessions.
- Manage class materials and supplies, ensuring they are well -organised and available for each session.
- Communicate effectively with the staff office, keeping them informed of class developments.
- Communicate effectively with parents in person with ad hoc feedback after sessions
- Be available for summer workshops/camps.
Skills:
- Qualified teacher .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, enthusiastic and patient.
- Ability to manage a group of children and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Ideally, you will be first aid trained and have a current DBS Check certificate.
