London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Student Advisor to join our Student Life Centre, part of our Student Journey department.
This department provides advice and support for students on a wide range of non-academic and educational needs. The department aims to enable all students to achieve their potential while studying, by providing an approachable and reliable service that students can trust.
Services provided include accommodation advice covering disabilities and dyslexia; employment and careers; financial advice; international students; mental health and wellbeing. ID card support, Student status and Council Tax exemption letters are also provided.
The Student Life Centre provides a central point of contact for all non-academic enquiries and services, making it easier for students to obtain the information and support they need. It is expected that staff who work in this team will develop a wide range of knowledge across all professional services and demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high standard of service to students. The Student Life Centre is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service, and staff in this role are key to the success of the service
About You
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent Communication Skills with an extensive experience of working in Customer Service Environments.
- Experience of working with a diverse client base, and to enjoy working with people.
- You must be highly organised, IT literate and able to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Experience of prioritising and operating to tight deadlines whilst under pressure.
