About the role

As our Financial/Operational Tax Reporting Specialist, you will part of Operational Taxes team and will be responsible for the preparation and submission of returns to HMRC, monthly reconciliations and submissions of tax claims. You will be interacting with stakeholders across LV= (Technical, Finance, Projects) and also involved in collaborative forums with HMRC. You will also provide guidance to the Customer Experience and wider teams, ensuring all key regulatory and legislative requirements are being adhered to, in accordance with our strategy and business plan. In addition, supporting the delivery of outstanding service to our customers, taking into account individual needs and vulnerabilities.

We support Hybrid working but will require you in our Bournemouth or Hitchin offices at least 2 days a week.

About you

  • Preferred relevant industry experience and ideally knowledge of tax treatment of Life, Pension and Annuity products and the associated tax returns and obligations
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a high paced, changing environment whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on your own on complex cases whilst also helping your team deliver on targets
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactively consider the evolving needs of the business, and our changing industry
  • Proven experience of working on MS office applications (especially Excel Knowledge)

Details

  • To support issuing of all HMRC Reporting and ensure the area adheres to regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • To support the effective implementation of regulatory and legislative changes into the business through the review and approval of solutions delivered via project, BAU, or legislative initiatives.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly and annual tax relief claims, quarterly Insurance Premium Tax returns
  • Managing daily and monthly tax reconciliation process
  • Assist in the development of improved tax processes and understanding within the business areas.
  • Explain challenging technical information in a way that our customers and colleagues can understand and engage with, either verbally or in writing.
  • Working effectively with key stakeholders around the business areas and maintaining positive and proactive management of stakeholders.
  • Attending appropriate project working groups and forums associated with regulatory and legislation and change activity within LV= and HMRC
  • Deliver training to business groups where required on processes and procedures
  • Maintain process notes for the areas of responsibility
