We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of a leading investment management firm. This role is based in their London office with a flexible hybrid model (2/3 days in the office), though more frequent office attendance will be required in the initial months for training.

Our client is a modern financial advisory and investment management business, specialising in retirement planning, estate and tax planning, and corporate financial planning. With 6 offices across the UK and £2B AUM, they are known for their use of advanced technology and transparent services to help clients effectively manage their wealth.
Role Purpose: This position will support the Group Finance team, assisting the Financial Controller and contributing to the management and maintenance of the company's financial records and transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the company's accounting system, processing transactions and reconciling accounts.
Record financial transactions and prepare journal entries.
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable reports.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
Manage credit card and expense processes.
Prepare payment runs on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
Liaise with other departments and external partners to resolve financial issues.
Support audit preparation and provide assistance during the audit process.
Maintain accurate electronic and email filing.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Key Competencies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret data.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with various stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge And Experience
Previous experience in an accounting role, ideally within financial services.
Knowledge of accounting software is desirable.
Degree in Accounting or Finance, or part qualified (AAT); a desire to pursue a professional qualification such as CIMA is beneficial.
Familiarity with accounting principles and financial services industry knowledge.
Annual Leave: 26 days per annum plus 1 well-being day (separate from annual leave)
